Hi
Dose anyone has experience with these spearguns.
I just seen thease guns and from visual impresion, I have different feeling.

Pathos open pro: Raill gun with small shaft, shaft with 3 hooks, barb under shaft, Longest loadding bands because hooks are very deep in handle, circilar bands

Demka: no raill on the barel, but all other thing is very impresive and inovative, shaft with two barbs

Gabbiano: shape of barrel, 1x20mm band

Tx

I've never tried Gabbiano, but Pathos Open Pro (I own 120 alu) is much better than Demka ALS in my opinion...

Thanx Alexx
What about Distance, which Shaft to use 6,5mm or 7mm, two bands 17.5- does it make barrel banding?
If you ever tried new DEMKA ANEMOS bands on other guns?
I would like to have 1m gun, for all ocasions (caves, and open water).
Does barb under shaft make any goods? (distance, accuracy).
This short shaft, is it eny improvment in Pathos or is only for easy moving?

When using 2x16mm use 6.5mm shaft. I'm using 2x17.5 and 7mm shaft. There is no barrel bending (rail increases stiffness). I didn't measure distance, but it can shoot very far. I think barb makes contribution to shooting range. Every rail gun has shaft that is cca 10 cm shorter than non-rail guns.

If you use the "search" tool on this forum you'll find big discussions about Gabbiano and Pathos guns. Almost nothing about Demka on this site.
What I can say is that, surprisingly, Demka spearguns are given great value here in my country: dont' ask me why, but I know some very skilled italian spearos who say they are the best in the category of serial products.
Me I've never shot a Demka gun, using italian gear amost exclusively, but BTW the only exception is my Viper 75cm set up: Demka wishbone and Demka 6,25 shaft, with Dessault 16mm bands is really a fantastic set up. Especially the Demka shaft, that's very tough. What I mean is that Demka seems to me a quality brand. Sorry for this poor feedback.

Thanks Spaghetti,
I went through "search " and find some discussions about Phatos and Gabbiano.
As usual, there are split opinions.
Personally, I would prefer to use 2xbands and not 1x20mm as in Gabbiano. Variety of opportunities to shoot (caves, diving, chasing, waiting…) with single speargun in one dive. With two bands and 3xHooks, one can have lot of possibilities to adjust a power.
GAbbiano invent some changes on muzzle and barrel but does it make really differences in practice.

So, from your and some others opinion about Demka details/products (shaft, wishbone), could be recommended for improvement in "old speargun".
What I've seen, Demka does not have rail, but only one small support in the middle of barrel. If use two circular bands, does it make shaft banding and shaft "to shake" after shooting?

I own a gabbiano trb 100 with 20mm´s.

Can tell u that it is a nice gun, very accurate.
It looks great, it looks even better if you actually have it in your hands.
Everything works fine, the shaft is very hard, good quality (lot better then demkas), .(even after a few misses into a rock)
The real is ok too.

I had to get used to it though, I also own a totem pelagos 90, and to be honest, somehow I prefer the gabbiano now.

There are 2 things I do not like.
1. It is negatively boyant, I mean it sinks...a bit to fast, I resolved the problem with a floating device.
The second thing is, I would like it to be a bit more powerful, I do not like to mess with the bands since it might lose its accuracy (it is really accurate).

I have lost 3 bonitos this winter because the spear did not go through, tip was sharp...these were shots from 3plus meters in bad viz, and now during this summertime, dentex has to come really close, lost a couple of them too due to the same issue.
Anyways, the guys fishing here use double bands and pneumatic guns and they do wack these fish.(they are very good by the way)hehehe..
So..if you want to wack bass, bream, gilthead etc....cool!!
For bigger fish....???

Any comments on the distances which Beauchat declare, and in reality how Gabbiano or Pathos can go?
Table is in attached picture.

I have one additional question.
Is there are any difference between Pathos Open and Pathos Open Pro?

I have found that PRO has two band. What about Barrel and ....???

Tesla,

Yeah the Open Pro uses two bands with corded wishbone (each side of the the band is tied to each other with cord in the form of loops), and the shaft has shark fins. Whereas the open uses just a one band and the shaft is regular.

From everything else, it seems like its pretty much the same gun....so I don't think there is a huge difference. The Open Pro probably has farther ranger and is probably a little more accurate.
