A pelican eating a pigeon in St James' Park, London.

Notice how other pigeons are walking past the other pelicans, not noticing what is happening.

In London Zoo the pelicans occasionally eat pigeons. Also I once saw, in a TV show, a pelican on a beach picking up a small dog in its pouch, and flying out to sea with it. The dog was soon dropped in the water and rescued.

or flapping and cooing. It makes you wonder whether or not they eat each other's young at the rookeries.
