Petition to maintain having the right fishing walleyes with a speargun

The MFFP biologist (Martin Arvisais) confirmed that with the new walleye management plan (2016-2026) the ministry plans to prohibit the use of spearguns, without any consultation of the followers of this sport or based statistics.

This plan would prohibit us to hunt one of the main species of fish in Province of Quebec throughout the next 10 years. This will be the beginning of the end for spearfishing.

This is unacceptable! We paid our fishing licenses like every other fishermen and ask for specific and reliable statistics before changing the rules. We want a moratorium on this decision.

Seems like BS to me to target the most selective way of harvesting walleye and are also the smallest group of people.

That however is the problem. No strength in numbers.
