and further to that... air conditioned bus shelters..

Cool way to travel in Dubai

After the luxury malls, the skyscrapers, the man-made islands and the daring architecture, Dubai's next landmark development will be air-conditioned bus stop shelters.

Dubai will be the first city in the world to offer the luxury of air-conditioned bus stops, said Abdul Aziz Abdullah Malek, the city's Director of Public Transport.

The aim is to lure people into using the city's public transport, and ease the pressure on its over-crowded highways.

rofl rofl

too true.. although the guys, especially our soldiers, get used to it and clamour to renew their contracts. Money talks a good language for some nationalities even if your life is permanently at risk :(

Ah, Sara, how little you know of the male psyche. Money talks a good language especially if your life is permanently at risk . . . at least until you get older than thirty!

ha! ah yes....i should have known better..

Some blokes who work here use the fact that they have worked in Afghanistan and Iraq as way to pick up girls around the bars in Dubai.. it's hiliarious to see how the women suck it all in... rofl rofl

Those girls are smarter than you think Sara, they're thinking "Here's a rich guy who's not going to last very long!" Any upsurge in marriages lately in Dubai? :D

Clever, clever, clever, Adrian. Don't give the girls any ideas!

That seems a bit extravagant for public transportation users.

My suggestion? Have a Zamboni-type machine to fill the potholes in the city with refreshing icewater, so that when a car drives by all the people at the busstop get doused with a rooster-tail of invigorating cold water. It sure would help our dwindling ozone layer, not to mention keeping the number of pothole complaints down to a minimum.

I got an answer to almost everything!

....a good friend of mine is quite adaptive and uses the friendly USofA air-conditioning services to keep cool...

Either he's surrendering, or he's drying his pits out. That sounds like a more costly fix than my ice water solution, but supposedly them oil suckin' muther truckers can afford it.

Super Cobras for EVERYONE!
