March 31 and April 1, 2012 will see the first AIDA Freediving Competition in the Philippines.
Wolfgang Dafert (Freediving-Philippines) together with the help of J.P. Francois (AIDA Belgium) will organize this event on the safe tropical Asian island of Cebu which has an international airport 2,5 hours away from the competition location.
A chilled tropical resort, calm deep waters close to shore and a makes the town of Moalboal a perfect spot for challenging your limits.

nice one. will post in the news tomorrow
if you have a press release, even better?
any competitor lists available? :)

Training begins for the competition with Daily deep-dive training on the platform....over 100M just a few strokes from shore---Here @ ElementFreedive (Freedive Cebu). There are divers from all over the world training here...having fun, chilling out and serious diving.

If you can't make it for the comp this month then no problem....we train all year.

What are the restrictions on spectators if we want to watch the competitors in action? Are non-participants allowed to scuba dive and watch the freedivers do their thing or is that not allowed?

We are very happy about spectators. Both for static in Club Serena Resort and also for the deep freediving in Tongo bay.
There will be an extra boat available only for media and spectators to watch the depth disciplines.
Spectators can watch in the water (away from the competition line and warm up zone) while snorkeling/freediving.
Sorry, but except for accredited photographers and videographers no other SCUBA divers will be allowed for safety reasons.
The event takes place in deep (120m) blue water with no reef or any other reference closebye.
