Hello
The reason for this thread is, that I was desperatly searching for reviews about several spearguns and couldn't any. Not just any reviews, reviews made by spearos who are using this equipment.

So this is a review after 1 year about a Picasso Aussie Basik 120
  • 28mm black alloy rail tube, for maximum precision
  • Basik handle with rubber grip and loading pad
  • Aussie closed muzzle for circular rubbers
  • 7 mm Gold round notched Shaft
  • Circular 19mm Blast Rubber with Quick Dyneema wishbones
  • Swivel cork screw muzzle bungee
  • Siwivel Orca clip on handle
  • 1.8 mm Mono line and sleeves
I live in Bondi so I used it for sure in Bondi, Mourubra, Jervis Bay, the GBR, Seal Rocks.....

I shot and fought Luderick, Black Drummer, Spanish Mackrel, Bonitos, Oz Salmon, Kingies....

The gun by itself is tough and solid designed, your not afraid to let it down to the ground or to bump a rock with it (sure you avoid it..).

It's easy to maintain quick dyneema and comes with good features.

When I had to replace mono, I took 2mm,- rubber-single 20mm and spear 7,5mm.

Hunting, as it comes it's pretty good for everything. But I had a couple of bigger fish and after I had to cut the spear I just thought get it more solid (because it got stucked). Aiming with the gun is easy but, and this is normal you have to get used to it and maybe some spearos find it imprecice with the open muzzle and that the spear has plenty if play. I'm a big bloke and I prefer having a bit more range. However, it's maybe for normal divers a touch too heavy and therefore to slow to move. Conclusion, go shorter. I also used the gun with a Picasso reel attached, and worked well. Rubbers, I haven't tried but I think there should be enough room for a 2x14mm set up.

All in all, I would buy it directly again, and I just ordered another gun from Picasso.

Cheers
