Does anyone use one of these?

Is the extra spear worth the weight and drag?

My instinct is that they would be most useful for hole fishing.

My instinct is they would be most useful when you get schooled by Bass:)
Shouldn't this be in hunting equipment?

I too have been thinking about bass recently... must be a winter thing.

Anyway - I think that most people dislike this gun due to a perceived tangle factor.

However I was thinking that having a second shot might be nice and perhaps there is a way to rig this so that it wont tangle.

I was thinking of having one shaft on a float system and the other as a standard.
Therefore when one goes off (on the float) you are effectively back to a standard gun whether you miss or not.

Any views or is this sheer maaaaadness !

Also - how about a double handed approach ?
Perhaps taking down two carbon (ie light) Picasso Centuries (82cm or whatever they make around that size). They float I seem to remember so you could drop one once you miss and try again.

Obviously the best thing to do would be become a better shot...buying a wooden gun railgun will improve accuracy - but I agree with Huan (please tell me where spearfishing mecca is ?!) that a fine school of bass is a site that makes you wish for "just one more shot" !

Hi Ed you have been watching too many John Woo movies! double gunning indeed! Now that would be worth videoing!!
I think that the Picasso century double is probably a nice gun but was probably designed for Pepe vinas ability. not mine it is probably more likely that he would drop to 38m find a hole with 2 groupers in it and need two shots.
Mecca...... Southern Ionian.........more to follow.

Using two guns (normally both 110s or 120s) is quite common in South Africa for Garrick. I have a south african friend who often uses two guns with tridents for bass on offshore reefs here in the southwest.
Personally I prefer to wait for the really big bass at the back of the school (the ones outside of the visibility) to come in range

Ben - I used one last year. It was one of the medium length ones maybe 75 with a shorter spear underneath. Very front heavy but it was possible to take two fish at a time. Being accurate with the bottom spear takes practice apparently its best to fire the bottom spear with the gun on its side gangster style! I found that for long sessions the benefits of two spears were out weighed by the pain in the arse factor of an un-balanced gun. Might be better suited to hole fishing though like you mentioned

Best of luck

Moved the thread to Euro Spearguns forum - hope it doesn't create any confusion!

I got one from friend, awkward to shoot at two different fish. I have found more use for it to sink another spear into a fish whose first spear did not stone or kill it.
