Looks great Joe, the only thing I notice might be the sight line, is the lading pad restricting you looking straight down the spear?
Interesting features & a nice design, what is the handle made from?
Is your dad a db member?

Thanks foxfish I said the same thing to my old man! Yeh it shouldnt be a problem as i dont tend to look down the barrel when i aim but we will soon find out when I get in! The design was taken from a gun called abellan denton but I didnt fancy the price tag so improvised, the handle is abellan, its some kind of plastic but it feels nice to the hand. No my dad is not a db member.

Great looking speargun SpearOJoe and with some interesting features. The handle looks good - long (front to back) & textured? -& the (adjustable?) loading butt. I've carved some handles for tools recently and am quite taken by the ability to tailor them to fit my needs and hand.

Not tempted to use a hand-friendly dyneema wishbone?

Thanks Mr.X I use picasso guns normally but the handle on that thing is something else, yes its textured almost like sandpaper but not as rough to the hand (if that makes sense?!) the loading butt is stainless welded back piece with a screw going through the top of the gun into the handle. That rubber on there at the moment is just for show, I will definitely be using dyneema wishbones to avoid anymore abuse than its going to get already lol.

Joe nice work man!!!!!! your dad did a great job

Have to taken it out yet? how the balance?

I'm already planning the next one scott haha, Havent taken it out yet, cant wait though! its got a short 20mm band on its going to be like a cannon

Classy Joe!
It looks quite between an Abellan and an Arbafan, but your pop's creation has a dinstinct elegance of its own. Beautiful!
