Right all.. im the adventurous type and havnt been away for a couple of years so thought i should make some plans and start saving.. basically im looking for ideas on a holiday possibly for me alone or with one or two friends too, i live in the UK so getting out of the country is a must, id love to throw in some spearing and diving in beautiful scenery and all your usual sights and sounds.. ideally i'd like a holiday off the beaten track and away from the mainstream of tourists if you get what i mean. Anyway money as always is an issue and obviously i'd like to spend as little as possible. Other than that anything goes, i must confess to having a real soft spot to being left to fend for myself on a proper deserted island or something equally different! so please input ideas or advice and if possible ideas of prices so i can start planning. Oh and if you live in a remote part of the world with your own desert island then please post!
Cheers
Joe

Hi Joe

I went to Zanzibar with my other half this time last year. We flew into Nairobi, then picked up connecting flight to Zanzibar. From there we picked up a boat with only the two of us on it and sailed to Pemba Island. We then started our diving and did the dives sights all the way back to Zanzibar - absolutely fantastic. Night dives were something else..... Spent the whole week just lazing around on the boat and diving. A holiday I would definately recommend..

I hadn't done any freediving at the time we travelled but did watch, dumbstruck, the locals spear fishing.

Happy holiday hunting....
