Does anyone know for sure where you can and cannot spear on the plover river. i was thinking about trying just north of jordan for some carp but not sure on vis or if i can even spear there

Pick up a copy of the trout regulations. Anything labeled trout waters you can't. I think a few of the guys on here spear below mcdill pond as well as where the plover meets the wisconsin.
thanks i loooked up the regs and it shows the plover has a size limit south of 66 on the map but no size limit north of 66 because of the dam there but is that still trout waters even though it has no size limit for trout, becuase i would believe not, cause there is no size limit but I am not sure about it.
You CAN spear most of the plover. Just like the man said check the regs for what segments of the river are "trout streams", and what segments are not. We used to spear it all the time, but when they drained mcdill vis went to shit. Vis usually isnt good when you go north...most of what we shoot is south of mcdill, or used to be. Good luck though.
yea i was the first to try the plover around here and shot loads of carp and most likely a record sucker...Mcdill was good to shoot sucker, couldnt find any carp though... But as fleshy said when they drained it and took all the milfoil out the vis went from about 8' to crap.
