Hello. I'm looking to take my pneumatic speargun speargun with me to Mexico this June. I'm flying on Continental airlines. Can someone please tell me if it's legal or what I need to do to ensure I can get through customs without trouble. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I heard that pneumatics are illegal in Mexico because they consider them a firearm:naughty even though they obviously are not. Maybe Gone to Baja can give you the specifics on that, but it's not something I would recommend testing.

Pneumatics are indeed illegal in Mexico, eventhough somewhat you see some with local divers. This is due to some loophole when importing them. Another thing it's gringo been caught redhanded. It's clearly written on the license (which you should have too) that only rubber band powered guns are allowed. Besides, an air gun (with metallic barrel and all) will entail a thorough search in any US airport. Take some some KY and always smile...

Kale/Ted- Thanks for the information. Will be leaving the KY and pneumatic in Texas! I have a friend that lives in the Tulum area that told me I could rent band guns while in Mexico so I hope to have some pictures to share shortly. Thanks again.

aaaaaahhhhhh Tulum is a beautiful place...enjoy and send some pics
