Hello everyone! It's been a long time since i last logged in the forum, but now i need your help (again)...

I CAN'T FIND 3/8 or 12.7mm or 14mm bands ANYWHERE in Greece...

Will the inner tube of a bike do the trick and how?

PLS answer fast 'cuz i've got to go spearfishing tomorrow....

Thanks in advance!!!

I got some 14mm rubber (fresh too) from spearitco.com in the USA, they sell/sold through: their own website, ebay and possibly Amazon. The prices/shipping varied a little, so work checking which works best for you.

Is 14mm a good size for a polespear? Bike tube, now there's an idea. I've actually used one already as a bungee for my float line - don't really need but thought I'd give it a try as I had an old inner tube at hand :D

If you cant get hold of pole spear rubber, you could always use a single speargun rubber, in a diameter that suits the spear. One end has a loop of dyneema, paracord etc to attach to the spear and the other end has a loop of material such as webbing or dyneema threaded through a short piece of rubber tube, you simply use the loop to pull the band up the spear. With regard bike inner tubes, in some parts of the world thats all they have and I believe they get very good results. I remember reading somewhere of an Indian rat catcher that kills records amount of rats with an inner tube powered catapult! Big up the humble bike inner tube, not only bringing freedom to the oppressed masses but dinner as well!!! :D
