Where do spearos place the grip on polespears? I have mostly used 2/3 from the back, but am wondering how others set theirs up.
Do you use the standard 3/8 inch polespear rubber?
What stretch length?

Depends on vis and how wary the quarry. We used to use short (5 ft) pole spears and grip it close to the head. The vis was bad and quarry not all that spooky. In the Bahamas, 8-9ft polespears, its better to have a lot of spear ahead of your hand, Vis is good, quarry spooky. Longer spears with the hand farther back works better. The fish don't seem to be as disturbed by a spear point if the diver is much farther away.
