Anybody got any experience with this suit? semes to be a sort of best of both worlds kind of material,smooth durable exterial soft warm interial,but how soft and stretchy is it? 1mm rubber could steal abit of nibleness. I would like a smoothskin suit for winterdiving,but im a bit reluctant to go for the normal one, since I know from experince that Im a bit to hard on my stuff for smoothskin suits.
 
hi mate. i was interested in this suit a few months back but the price put me off. one of the members on the forum, (dario deli) recommended it to me. he uses the same brand and swears by them. if i had the money i would have gone for one. I ended up getting a ellios suit. next time i might spend a bit more and get one.
 
Cheers,yes its a bit pricy,but I hope its worth it. Found some revievs on medfish and my wife helped me with the meashures today
 
Triple-check your measurements - preferably on different days / at different temperatures / left & right side. Make sure you allow enough space around your throat to avoid constriction problems.
 
Thigtness around the throat is one of the main reasons for getting a made to measure,I got a off the shelf 7mm suit and its a bit claustrophobic.
 
I have this suit and its the best suit I've ever owned! Very comfortable and hardwaring.After having numerous suits in different makes I shall now only get Polosub.Their suit patterns are more comfortable and their made to measutre suits are a better fit than any others I've tried including Elios.:martial
 
Well,I got the suit in the mail yesterday looks extremely well made,gonna test it in the local lake on sunday,6 degrees freshwater should be a sufficiant test...
 
might get to that ,need to get some white rubber paint though,I guess that stuff they paint the letters on car tires with would do.
 
You might end up being chased round a fyord by an amourus bull whale lol!! How does the suit compare in the water to others you have had?
 
I have unfortunately not been able to try it in the water yet due to a carpentry project at home,that took alot more time than anticipated,its amazing how rotten carrying parts of a house can be without falling down...Ive got it all back together again now so hopefully Ill be able to sneak off from work and have a dip this week. Amorous whales sounds terrifying
 
Well had a small dip in the local lake,and I must say it is one fine suit,It was between 6 and 9 degrees in the water and I was not bothered by the cold at all Its a 7mm with longjohns though... Ive only used elios suits before got a mtm 5mm nylon outer and a off the shelf meshskin 7mm,I would say comfortwise there is not much difrence the elios 7mm is a bit stiffer,but its 4 years old and not mtm so abit unfair to compare. The biggest suprise was how much more bouant it was,gonna need to add some weight to my belt now... When my 5mm wear out, Ill get another like this one just in 5mm,I like it
 
Excellent stuff. i think the process they put the material through adds 0.5 mm that might explain the buoyancy. But that's some chilly water its keeping out!! i found spreading the weight out with a vest and some homemade weights(long and narrow) worn inside the suit against the side of my shins balanced me out a treat giving the feeling of more freedom rather than a load around the waist.!

I use a weight west and some ancleweights,so Im fairly evenly balanced. Have you coated the led with anything? I would not want to have led rubbing against the skin for hours though.
 
i did spray them black just using standard paint but this hasnt taken allover and comes off with the bumps and wear i am not to fussy.but have seen some people on here who have coated with a rubberised type of paint sorry cant remember the thread tho. i bought a mold which only allows the width of a belt through so any paint in there would just clog them up i will try and upload a pic of the weights the shape is pretty cool

here are the pics of my weightbelt and a closer one of the weight in profile they are very anotomical and comfy.
The ankle weights i have wrapped in a good layer of insulation tape to save putting the lead against my skin and it also grips to the inside of my suit keeping them in place

Those weight are really clever,Ive tried to make some similar ones a couple of years ago,not as sucsesfull as you though,how did you make the molds?I made mine outof wood and it diddnt work too well. I have this idea about making some molds out of some sort of heat proof silicone so I could make weights in the shape of skulls,would look really metal.
