I have had mucus stuck to back of my throat that I am not able to swallow or cough out,I have tried salt water gargling, nasal rinse, nasal spray nothing seems to work

any suggestions?

Gargle a little apple cider vinegar, don't over do it, it will burn your throat but dissolves even the toughest tonsilloliths. Before that, ensure you aren't confusing this with symptoms of strep throat or something which can have similar sensations before visual manifestation.

See your GP. What you describe does not sound normal to me.

If you are just congested, try going for a run and, if you not allergic to NSAIDs, you might try ibuprofen (an anti-inflammatory) - I find both quite effective for me. It also helps with tonsillitis, as does a Disprin gargle - if not allergic to aspirin. You might also try sudafed - recommended to me by a GP for my inflamed sinuses - but I avoid it as I think it can dry you out too much and pseudo ephedrine is I believe now banned in many sports.

Sounds like you should not dive until you have sorted it out. :(

Try RHMEDY.com it's saline, H202 (food grade hydrogen peroxide), and MgCl (magnesium chloride). It will knock out sinus and bronchial infections and help keep your breathing passages clear. If you have a throat infection, best to use warm salt water and over-the-counter H202 @ 3% (capful in 8oz) every couple of hours until you knock out the infection. Saltwater acts (through osmosis) to draw out the mucus and infection and H202 kills any bacteria or viral load. As to Mr. X's reply above, No, if you are congested and you have an infection, going for a run may temporarily clear your sinuses, while simultaneously driving it deeper into your bronchial passages and lungs. So any cardio should be very light if at all.

Also, check for allergies. If you have allergies nothing will work to reduce mucous as they may be chronic if related to food, specific pollen, saltwater, etc. You need to address those as any allergy that keeps your system active with mucous or inflammation will definitely interfere with your ability to clear your ears. I had chronic allergies for years resulting in a ruptured eardrum until I addressed my microbiome (gut) health which is where most of our allergies reside unless they are genetic. I have been allergy-free now for over 10 years.

Agree with others on determining the root cause first. You may want to see an allergy specialists or an ENT.

In addition to meds, you might also want to try some cleansing pranayama. Here is a video made by Oli Christen that describes one such approach using alternate nostril breathing. It may help to loosen up the mucus.

Few other things to try that have not been mentioned:
-Try drinking a lot of water for a few days. It may help to dilute the mucus and help it drain.
-Try using a Neti Pot (check out YouTube videos on how)
-Try using a humidifier for your place (dry air can cause all sorts of issues like you're describing)
-Try inhaling steam (boil some water, put in a pan and inhale for 10 minutes with a towel over your head)
-Some people swear by Mucinex. You have to be taking it for a few days though.

Good luck.

Fresh lemon juice in hot water a sqeeze a whole lemon keeps my throat dry during the night .Another is chew on raw ginger root another possibility hope from all of the peoples sudgestions you find a good result.another is ying yang mint oil from japan sold all over the world

Allergies is what causes my post nasal drip and allergies is also what's caused me in the past to have bad ear infections (middle ear). The solution was taking antihistamines. It greatly reduced the mucus when I dove and I no longer have sinus issues or ear infections. I'd recommend trying the 2nd generation antihistamines and to try a few of them as one may work better than another for you. Don't do benadryl as you might wake up someplace else floating.
