I have recently come to notice that I get depressed a few hours after a good Co2 training session. It seems pretty consistant when I do heavy dynamics, and negative breath holds (all dry). I always end up a little bluesy later on that night. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks for any intel.

When I used to do hard sessions of dynamic, I was always reminded how horrid it is to go anywhere near maximum effort. This feeling can haunt you. This is why I never go anywhere near max anymore. I now have pleasant training sessions instead of moody ones. I now look forward with eagerness for just one more opportunity of doing a maximum effort, rather than knowing for certain that every session will once again be horrid. Now its just one effort that will be horrid, and you can always prepare for that one event.

Are you anywhere near Salt Lake? Can you freedive it? Does the bouyancy effect you differently than the Ocean?
 
I always feel better after a hard training session. I don't know why, but even if I've had a bad day, and the training session wasn't that good, I feel great afterwards.

For me, a maximum effort dynamic is soooo hard, much worse than any static. It has got easier recently. It's just very hard to convince myself to get into the cold pool wearing only a shorty suit, and hold my breath and ignore the urge to breathe and keep going, and then come up and make some attempt at the surface protocol instead of just collapsing in a heap.

I have changed my breath-up and it has improved my dynamics. I have also been going to the gym and swimming.

Negative breath holds are even worse, if that's possible. That's why I don't often do them. :D

thanks guys. I always feel great directly after a good session, its some hours later that the demon catches me. I was wondering if any of you phsiology buffs had a scientific explination.
It probably post traumatic stress dissorder from the negatives:)

How often do you cats train?
How many dive days do you get in a mounth?

Well, here's a yogic explanation. All the negatives reduces overall O2 saturation in the blood which results in low prana and a depressed mood. Do sudarshan kriya several hours after running a CO2 or a negative table to charge-up again and you'll feel great again.

It might be easier to Google it. Basically its a breathing technique taught that suffuses the body with prana. I've been doing it along with many other yogic practices for years. Good technique that readily removes depression.
