hi there i am 17 year old and new to this site deeperbleu its a awsome site verry usefull for freediving. on bed or laying down i can hold my breath for 4.45 min but in swimming pool i can nearly get 3 min how can i improve that time

Hi Tim,

Welcome to DB. Sorry for the delay in reply; we are usually quicker.

Static in the pool being shorter than dry is almost certainly lack of relaxation. It comes with practice. First and most important, NEVER do static in the pool alone, it will kill you. Also, having backup dedicated to watching only you is very reassuring and helps you relax. Use the search function to look up info on wet statics. The beginner, how to freedive thread probably has a lot of useful stuff. Mostly its about relaxing, breathing up slow and easy, don't hyperventilate, and relax some more. Practice with a buddy and you will get better fast. Fancy technique can wait for later.

Good luck with it.

Connor
