I am one proud daddy, my 4 year old daughter, already an excellent swimmer(she's been swimming since 15 months) is now taking a fancy to diving underwater. Beginning of the month she would have me push her under in the shallow end so she could touch the bottom. Yesterday I put some fake gold doubloons at the bottom of the deep end (6’) and she dove down and retrieved them on her own! A new personal best. All those world records are in serious jeopardy in 20 years.

i feel the same pride with my son.. he's 4 too and he took to swimming naturally after watching me. he has a monofin on order (waterways makes a "finding nemo" mono).. but he uses my fin right now and i'm amazed at how deep he can dive with it on.. with absolutely no fear.

woo hoo for water babies!! i really like swimming hand in hand with him into the deep end.. now i just have to teach him how to fix his ears in the deep end.. i like your idea of putting things on the bottom for her to retrieve.. i gotta try that.

congrats on her 6 foot dive.. you have a free diver of the future right there

I'm also happy for my nine year son Luca!!, last wednesday he did his first 25 mts underwater !! he was wearing short rubber fins, we saw Oceanmen a few days ago, and i was about to laugh seeing him trying to pack the way "young Humberto " does in the movie . I was all the way over him, didn't think he was going to do it, but he did !!!! sincerely, in a moment i thought in taking him out of the pool, but he looked really good, so i let him...
What else can i say ??? I'M PROUD !

isn't that the cutest fin EVER??? i can't wait until he gets it!!

the guy emailed me back and said its for 7-8 year old and older.. i'm hoping he fits it.. if not then i'll get him some neoprene socks. he's only 4 but he has HUGE feet.. i swear his feet are larger than my 8 year old nephew.

he uses my finis fin right now.. i adjust the straps to the smallest so he can use it.. and he kicks A$$ in it. sadly, on sunday the straps broke so we're currently grounded. we went to a public pool so we could swim 50m laps and they didn't want him doing the laps with the mono.. then they didn't want him swimming laps period... i put the mono fin him.. he beat the freestylers!!. i knew it.. with mono on we just rule.i i told them look, we do 25m laps in our pool everyday... i'm like.. my boy can swim and i take responsibilty for him (they also didn't want us using the mono PERIOD) screw public pools, they put too many rules on us.

sadly i've found that i'm a crappy swimmer without my fin..LOL.. oh well, guess im just a mermaid. i can't swim with two legs or with stereo fins on, i need my legs bound.

i swear i can't wait until his fin gets here.. he's like. mommy.. when is MY mono coming??

ah.. patience is a virtue..

diva

ps.. congrats andres too.. that's SO impressive
