psychological training

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
More important than the physcial training.
Usually a challenging and structured physcial training will result in mental training. And the structure depends on teh person :)

Hello and welcome on DB... Well they do it through Yoga sessions... But you need someone experienced to teach it for you... All best

i know that you need a pro for that kind of training, but are there some methods you can do on your on, like visualization...?

Hard work and lots of it....
I'm not joking... hard physical yet challenging work, like running at 5am every morning before work , and improving on the previous day or going to the Gym and attempting to improve everything... Sooner or later you reach a treshhold where the improvements become harder so you work harder to get them... the more you improve the harder it gets and its here that a strong infallible mind is forged.

I think the visualisation techniques are only really beneficial to a really strong mind, one that has gone through the above ;)

I agree with you there bobdonny, about hard physical effort develops mental strength, however mental strength is needed to put your self through the effort ,especially when you reach a point of diminishing returns (ie you train so much harder for a very small increase in performance !) if you are into freediving contests you can set yourself goals and targets and raise your game for a specific event ,time, depth etc ,,,however i just like exploring the local coastline and if i can get a meal out of it then thats a bonus!!! the pleasure for me is just being out there on, or in, the water and do not consider myself to be in a competitive sport ,BUT, always think i could do better !!!!
