purchasing roller gun

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
The Picasso looks simpler than the Omer, so I'd go with the Picasso

Pathos are releasing a rollergun soon. Id wait and see how that turns out.

I have a Pathos gun myself and no doubt it is much much better than any Omer gun, in every aspect. I dont think Pathos will disappoint with the rollergun either.

Id Agree that omer is not a good choice for a roller , since ive heard so many downsides for it .
lawstraljan do you know when will pathos release the roller ?
and while i was checking rollers out i found seahawk sub roller. did anyone actualy try it or know anyone who did ?

cheers!

Pathos should be releasing within 30-40days from what Ive heard. Try emailing them.

Ive got quotes for Seahawk sub and their prices are jist ridiculous. A 65cm rollergun costs €650 not including shipping. Yes, its beautiful and well made (CNC) but not worth the price tbh.

what !! a 650 EUR for a 65 cm gun.
unless its a machine speargun i wouldnt go for it :D
ill try emailing pathos to get some info.

thanks mate!

Mvd sells a roller muzzle you can add on to most existing guns. Get a pathos and add the muzzle. Petros from Spearamica.com will take real good care you.

Did you have the mvd? The reason I ask is there are MANY MANY people currently using the mvd and have great results.

Ive never had the MVD but I had the Alemanni powerhead. I still wouldnt recommend them though. For maximum performance on any roller or invert roller you need a gun with mass to absorb most of the recoil and reduce muzzle lift as much as possible, whereas aluminium guns or carbon guns cant give you that without sacrificing the balance of the gun.

You can try but be warned, you'll have a lot of trial and error test before finding anything decent enough. Im not saying not to give it a try, but muzzle lift will be your worst enemy with light guns with a rollerhead.

When I had mine I'd change the spear, rubbers and setup until I found anything that gives decent results, but I was never satisfied because I knew a rollergun can perform a lot better than that, so I built my own rollergun and am currently making another. The results were so different and better I was ecstatic and blown away by the maximum performance of a rollergun. My 87cm rollergun shoots better than my 110cm aluminum gun and way better than the 95cm beuchat gun I had used with the rollerhead.

These are my 87cm rollergun I made.

PS: what kind of fish do you hunt? And what distance do you wish to shoot from?

The whole point of a roller gun is that there is minimal recoil with it. I have been using for over a year now a Pathos 110 and a Pathos 82 rollers and shooting them feels amazing. I almost forget how complicated it is to rig them.

At the end of the video above you will see a shot with a 82 aluminum roller at 15 feet from muzzle. That is a 5 meter shot guys.

Petros is 110% correct. I have used the roller muzzle on both a 90, a 95 and a 100 rail guns...all with fantastic results.

If you are looking to upgrade your rail gun or tube gun...seriously. Go to spearamerica.com and get yourself a roller muzzle. I have one, and am ordering a second one and probably even a thrid. From now on, Ill be ditching my standard bands guns in favor for these roller guns.

I was a nay sayer...but now im convinced the roller modification is def a worthwhile upgrade.Unless lightning fast shaft speeds, minimal recoil and lots of dead fish aren't your thing, seriously consider doing one. You can have a tiny tiny gun with the power of a larger gun, which is HUGE when you are looking to travel and not lug around a 130 gun..

They are simple to set up and rig up once you understand them. While you can literally slap on the muzzle and be ready to kill fish, plan to spend some time, configuring and tweaking your set up and make it perfect. You can get more range then petros says, but he gives you a realistic baseline to start with....

if i forgot to mention....spearamerica.com go to it, contact petros and make it happen. Youll be glad you did.

Id go for roisubs muzzle. Its an invert system and works much better than the conventional rollergun. Much more powerful and much much more accurate too.

Im shooting 4.5m with a 75cm gun and it hits hard, has better penetration than a rollergun too. This is the gun I made myself but roisub sell muzzles for alu guns too.

I think that muzzle would be good for people that already have roller experience. Its hard enough to try and explain to people the basics of the standard muzzle without trying to complicate it with a reveres muzzle...baby steps baby steps

Haha yeah maybe. Though once you do get the setup right, accuracy and power is much more rewarding. Best thing about this system is you have no band obstructing your aim sight which is why im loving this system. Im stoked at the results ive got with a 75 gun that ive never done on a 110 gun before

I live in florida. So as cool as a 90cm roller gun is. Sometimes i still want a little more power. Our waters range from crystal clear to crappy, so having the different guns in my arsenal really help me fine tune the environment.

On my 110 gun i have added mass and shaped its body. Started as a rob allen...i painted it pink because someone told me i wouldnt, and no one tells me what to do. I also named it the needlefish slayer...

This gun, is going to get the Pro muzzle soon which will have an 18mm band...i am also adding a meandros trigger mech and possibly adding a second standard 16mm band on the side...this idea it to make this a heavy reef/ light bluewater gun...

I vouch for Meandros. All my custom build guns have Meandros trigger mechs, theyre great.

Meandros are probably the best triggers worldwide. People in the US did not realize it yet and it will take time lol. They still think a lot of metal provides security.
