Unless your a magician, I don't think that band is going on that muzzle. :)

You will have to "tie" a band onto the gun. You will need bulk rubber tubing, Dyneema or Spectra cord for wishbones or a metal wishbone snd cord for tying constrictor knots.

i dont understand though...back when this gun was in production how did they do the bands? They didnt make everyone tie their own bands did they? Cant i buy premade ones??? I dont want to go through all that hassle

At the Factory they probably put the wishbone on after it was through the gun. I have that same Band for one of my JBL guns - but it has a cut in where the band goes- (small cut, takes some force to get it on there)

The other thing you could do- is cut that part in front of the muzzle- Then it should fit in there-

If the muzzle is plastic you could always cut through so as to allow the 'wishbone' part of the band through then spin until in place, if you don't want to make your own bands; however, making your own bands is a lot more economical and not difficult. You should give it a go!

would a cut in the muzzle affect the performance at all? and can u tell if this gun accepts 1 band or 2?

Hi Phychotics, I would suggest you tie you own bands or even buy a new muzzle, that is one ugly looking mother of a muzzle you have at present!

lol..i got the gun fo 12$!!!! nothin is so ugly u cant pay that..lol, y is it so ugly? i dont wanna go through the hassle of doing my own bands...i might just make the cut. I am friends with my local dive shop owner and am going to have him look at it...but i will probly end up just cutting it. If i keep investing in this pos gun i will have been better off buying a comanche..lol

It shouldn't have any effect on the gun. I did it to my picasso with no problems. It is pretty ugly!

leave my gun alone..her name is sheila.....she may be ugly..but some day..she will take a life..some day..and btw y did u have to cut ur speargun? same problem as mine?

Your muzzle accepts 2 bands- doesn't mean you HAVE to put 2 on there- but i would.

alrighty then...thx for everyones help....and criticism of my sexy gun..lol. You can keep posting on this thread too...it all helps me

One thing to note. You have not shown a shaft for the gun. That band MAY not fit. length wise. The nice thing about making your own bands is you can shorten them if needed, to get the right power.

EDIT: Another option is Home of HammerHead Spearguns. It's a tied band that is simple to install and pre-made.I got some and tried them when I bought a muzzle from them. They work great. I prefer a single band myself, but I did try them.

For $12 you can't complain. I cut the muzzle so that I could slip a band in if I snapped one when in the water. The original bands on the Picasso are the screw in type. Honest try making up your own bands it is really easy!

Good luck with the bands and hope yer baby treats you well。

do u think this band is too short? or too long? Its a 42" gun, and its a 20" band....i DO not have a shaft yet..as i am not sure which ones will work......i will proby take it into a dive shop and have smeone look at it to choose a shaft. Im looking into a 7mm 48" shaft.....sry im mixing metric with imperial..but most of u know what im talking about...and just for your opinions...if i do go with the hammerhead premade ones.....what thickness and length should i do for just a single band? and what thinkness/length if i wanted to do double?

youre rite, you were better off buying the commanche...hehehe
g'luck

Your gun is a 105, so you'll want a 145cm shaft. 7mm sounds like a good choice on diameter. You'll have to try different types to find the one that locks in good.

Length of the band, I don't know how to calculate that. I know you have another post, I assume that is what you went by when you bought, so it very well could work. 9/16 is a 14mm band. If your going to use that one, you will need 2. Same with the hammerhead bands, you will need 2. I don't know Cali spearing and what is normally needed for power. 9/16 (14mm) is probably good. 5/8(~16mm) more power, but older gun, I'd start with the smaller to make sure it's going to hold up and not mis-fire. Or a single 3/4" (18.75mm)
