Ive been searching for a new speargun to tackle some 40+ striped bass in the fast moving, limited visibility of the northeast,US. Ive wanted to remain with wooden, banded guns, and with a somewhat limited budget all avenues have pointed to Daryl Wong's hybrids as the best for my situation, and apparently one of the best on the market in every other regard. I plan on speaking to Daryl before purchasing the speargun, but would like to ask other Wong Hybrid owners a few questions before hand.
What is the approx. range on a 50" titanium hybrid with a 9/32 shafts?
Does the trigger mechanism accept both 9/32 and 5/16 shafts easily?
Is a 50" the way to go to take powerful fish or shouldi consider the 55", I mean ive been hunting successfully all year with a 54" Mahagony Biller so that size range wouldnt be difficult for me to handle, I just need power and manuverability in fast current?
Is there any sort of safety on the trigger, and if not how touchy is it?
Id really appreciate any and all responses on the topic. . . .
