I found my dads old jbl 6' polespear. My questions are:

Whats the advantages/disadvantages of a trident over a paralyzer tip or vice versa?

and

what length band would i need to get?

thanks, skitch

go with a Hawaiian flopper tip. Paralyzer tip is only going to be good on smaller fish. Trident tip is the same way. Plus you're punching 3 holes in your dinner with both of those options. A nice Hawaiian flopper and you know that once you hit the fish it's not getting away.

I always just use Paralyzer tip it wont damage the fish as much. hawaiian floppers are really not necessary and it will damage the fish more Trident tips are just crap in my opinion. everyone in hawaii uses 3 prongs great for practice or starting out.
