R.I.P Bjorn Hedquist

Bjorn you were the most passionate, enthusiastic, infectous person i have ever met and i will miss you loads man!! I am so happy to have met you and met someone who truly LOVED what they do. You will be so so so sorely missed my friend! RIP in freediving heaven big man!!

Bjorn's funeral ceremony will take place at Lingonvägen 5, SE-83162 Östersund (stersunds Godtemplares Byggnadsaktiebolag - Odensala), Sweden on 12th May 2012, and I learned that the family might be pleased if members of the community show up at the ceremony. So if you are near the place or willing to travel, do not hesitate to participate.

Bjorn passed away in his sleep on 15th April 2012. The exact cause is still unknown, and the family and friends hope to learn about it from the Thai authorities later this month.

Bjorn was an avid freediver, SSI freediving instructor working for Freediving Gili, Indonesia, and also a competitor. He participated at the latest freediving competition in Moalboal Cebu. His personal best in CWT was 85 meters.

I did not know Bjorn personally, but from what I learned he was a loving person and an excellent guy.

I learned most of this from Bjorn's close friend who also asked me to add Bjorn to the memorial page at Apnea.cz. I'll add Bjorn's competition results as soon as I receive them from the organizer.
