RA or Rabitech

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Ihab, i have the perfect answer to your question, i own a rabitech apex carbon 120, you could test it in the water and compare with the Rob Allens, my assumption is that they will be veeeeerrrrry close in most things

Thank you so much Marwan....you're very kind.
I've just received my Rabitech 100 Stealth and will try it this weekend.
Last weekend was a blast....groupers...."boury"....and others.
It seems it's some sort of season now.....fish are just everywhere unless it was a freaky weekend.

Thank you again for your offer.

oh so nooww the fish show up....they must have heard im home baby sitting

Thanks for posting, Strangelove: a pleasure to read.
Indeed they do not rate the T20 with rail as the most accurate. What they say is a different thing: they say that the T20 is the best gun, considering all the factors: accuracy, yes, but also handyness, comfort, recoil, lightweight, easy loading, smooth tracking, accessories available...
And they say that other guns maybe a bit more accurate, but they're too heavy, too loud, too hard to load, uncomfortable handle et cetera et cetera.
I have a T20 same as the one tested: carbon barrell, full length rail, open muzzle, 18mm circular band and 6,3mm tahitian shaft. In facts I don't think it's the best for pinpoint accuracy (the older Omer Master and the Seatec Trb shoot a bit more straight IMHO), but considering all the various features the T20 is the best gun to hunt with, at least here in the Med, at least among the ones I have used personally.

Erm heres my opinion. I think that given the option yes go by what the tests say but I think accuracy and efficiency of any gun does in the end of the day depend on the hunter, put someone with a new T20 and someone who has used his (add gun name here) for a year or so and I can almost guarantee that the guy used to his specific gun will outshoot the T20 on any test. That said the T20 does seem like the best gun in the ones tested but hey I do like my rabi apex

Yes indeed: nothing scientific in these tests, just an interesting feedback. (but please let me wave the flag for an italian brand :t ).
What you say Deep Thinker is 100% true: the best gun is the one that becomes your natural "arm extension".
Moreover, both Rabi and RA have a great reputation all over the world and there' must be a reason if people like them so much. I'd be curious to try them, but what they're not available in my country, and then what they say is that SA guns are a bit heavier than the average italian spearguns, while I need lightweight guns to swing on my small n' quick italian fish (nervous fish, thus I'm a nervous spearo :martial ).
I think you south africans would appreciate Seatec guns, as they're quite the same as yours: pinpoint accurate and a bit heavier than the average euroguns.
Cheers Deep Thinker

Hey I can always post you a 750 Rabi itll cost you less than 60euro, dont know what the postage will cost though. Cant guarantee delivery in one piece though our postal service are kinda hardcore on packages rofl . I do agree that these guns mite be a tad heavier but hey it cant be more than a few grams or what? I would also like to try some other brands of guns but the only ones Ive come across here are cressis and they are rediculously pricey, RA and rabi hence my choice of weapon :martial It does stop most fish Ive shot with it dead though...

Spaghetti

I am definilty going for a HF this year , last december in Brazil I had a hell of time tracking the blue with teak-sea azimuth, there are many factors to good shooting in adicional to an acurate gun. Static shooting the gun in a pool only tests one little portion. On fast moving fish one needs to be able to track the fish with gun and also avoid shooting from above but with fast moving fishing sometimes you don't have a choice, we all know that. The gun needs enough power the penetrate the fish and have holding power an acure gun but under power may just heart the fish.

Many thanks for the feed back on the cayman hf (I was considering the carbon one ).

Spago my apex is a 1.1m it mite be a bit long for your style of hunting and I dont really want to trade it in just yet :inlove I also have a 750 attack without rail ect that Im busy customising for short range hunting. What I actually meant was that the guy who makes the rabitech guns lives just around the corner from me and a new 600 to 800mm barrel lenth apex cost like R850.00 fully equiped with rail, rubbers, spear, mono line and bungee and float clips, now with the euro being something like 14 to 1 it should be around 60 euro for the gun. But hey even if the postal service does get a bit hard handed with packages theres not really something enough bubble wrap and good packaging cant protect hmm wine.

overall rabitech is quieter i got a 80cm hunter which is like a rob allen with metal rail bout few months ago it is cheaper dont know about egypt
but rabitech stealth and apex is polymer track and the grip and accuracy more to my liking then ra with ra being next in line
power is the same it is grip accuracy and noise difference

the hawaiiskindiver review of the t20 is bs the guy is a sponsered diver by omer. i am not gonna even comment about service issue

I see your point mate, and I never thought these tests should be taken as holy scripture, but I don't think the HSD was cheating.
Firts because they specified very clear on top of the page that Travis Whatsisname is sponsored by Omer, second because also the other two guys who are not sponsored made quite the same statements, third because the Omer guy himself gave a poor rating of the stock-sold T20 and specified it has to be custom modified to give its best.
I don't think the test is anything scientific, but still I don't believe they're cheating or selling smoke to us, just my 2 euro cents (and I'm not sponsored by Omer, it's Omer getting money from me).

you know spago, being the gun collector that i am i would say this, IMHO the main advantage of SA railguns versus the euro's starts appearing in lengths over 100, the main differences being in the loading ease and quickness and also the quietness of the gun, for the 120 i use a single 20mm rubber with 7mm shaft, so the penetration and range are also very good, the barrel is what i find the main poibt of diffecnce, carbon fiber with Stainless steel rings (sort of like a ribbed condom ) very sturdy and robust.. thats what i concluded, i use my apex carbon 120 on bigger fish when viz is very good, while the omer carbonium 100 is my main weapon for all around conditions,,, C4 is still being kept in my display section until i get over its price

Iv read good things about RA guns, but which gun is best suited
for reef hunting?
