RA reel on older RA Tomahawk???

Hey guys

First post for me.
Im off to mozambique in Feb next year and am sorting my gear out so long. Im keen a RA reel but believe it has been made to fit their newer handle. The older picasso style gun has a flared barrel where it meets the handle, does this not interfear with the mounting? If you mount the reel too far forward, the screw will pierce the air chamber. has anyone got a pic of a RA reel mounted on the older RA (Picasso) style gun?

Has anyone spearfished of the beach at Xai Xai, any good in February?
