Rabitech 1 or 2 bands?

Hi i just got back from La Paz Baja Mexico, I used my Rabitech 110 for the First time, (Awesome gun by the way)

I noticed there where many fish out of range but im sure that with a double wrap i could hit them next time.

so i was wondering if for double wrap should i use 2 16mm bands and 7mm Shaft.
 
if they are out of range with a single wrap, then you'd be taking a pretty long shot if u were shooting with a double, what type of fish? most fish you can get within 10 - 15 feet of if you stalk them properly, which is a very effective shooting range for your gun.
 
This is for Parrot Fish mostly sometimes i see them really far away and its almost imposible to get closer to them if the had seen you already, so i was wondering if a double wrap with 2 16mm bands would be effective.

What i have right now works awesome but a little bit more range wouldn't be bad at all.
 
Hiya

2x16mm's will give you more range, but will not be powerfull enough to penetrate a fish completely at the range of double wrap. If you do want to go the twin 16mm route, opt for a 8mm spear. I've found that the 8mm spear works very well for 2x16's on my 130 Rabi Apex.

However, it sounds like your gun might be too short. If the water is very clean, a longer gun, like a 130 will give you more range.

parrotfish sure can be tricky to hunt, for me, aspettos work the best for them, drop down sloowwwllllyyy, when u hit bottom, just look at the ground under you for about 20 seconds, then very slowly look up, usually the parrots can be very curious and they will have come closer to see what your doing, if they are within range, ease your gun out to shooting position, line up, and take a quick shot.. not a wild shot, but dont spend a few seconds sighting down the gun on the fish either. it can help if you have a couple on your stringer allready, drop it about 10 feet in front of where u will do the aspettos, the other ones will come up eventually to see why there are some so close to you.

Just to have an ideia what do you think it's the range of a Apex carbon 1.4 with open muzzle, 2 16mm bands and a 8mm spear?

Also try rubbing rocks and throwing sand.This seems to bring the parrots in closer sometimes.

My120cm mamba is very sexy at 6 meters. :inlove Takes 3 wraps and rips some of the spool when i shoot. heh

I've read a lot about the mamba recently.

Is is really as good/quiet/powerful/accuarte as they say???
 
You can try adding the half wrap by HH muzzles. I just added one to my 120, I use a single band with a 7mm spear. It adds alittle more range to your gun and still pulls line out of my reel when it hits the end( when I miss). I also used twin 16 bands and it was ok for bigger fish, I had a harder time targeting smaller fish though because of the increased recoil... Uhus (parrot fish) are getting a lot harder to hunt in certain areas of Hawaii now, they are all on ice and get super paranoid when they see divers, bastards. rofl
