hey i jus got a rabitech 1300 and woundering if it wpould go better with 2 16mm rubbers or one 20mm and also which of the two are esyer to load thanks

First off mate, its pretty usefull to know what size (thickness: 6mm 6.3mm 6.5mm, 7mm, 7.5mm etc) shaft your using, then we can get an idea on accuracy. See the weight of the spear vs the power of the bands is an important matter, as a light shaft with powerfull bands will shoot high and visa versa.

As a general rule, two lots of 16mm would be a little easier to load each time... but bear in mind that obviously you have to load twice, instead of just once. There is a good thread on loading technique somewhere... someone should be able to put you to it.

What type of fish are you hunting and where? What is the vis like... all of these are factors in choosing bands and shafts correctly.

:D

Hope thats ok,

Huw.

hey yeah ive got a 7mm shaft but finding it hard to load the 20mm rubber as my previouse gun was alot different and had a loading pad. im sure i will get use to it im jus woundering if im best off starting with an easyer rubber to load to get the hang of it i can always keep my 20mm. its mainly an all round gun but i wanted the size so i can use it blue water and also on outer reefs.

thanks heaps for the help

Hiya

Twin 16mm bands will be easier to load. The 7mm shaft will handle the power of 2x16mm's, especially if they're a bit "soft".

I've found that the Rabitech 8mm (actually 7.9mm) spear works VERY well with 2x16mm's on my 130. The heavier shaft also has more "hitting" power, which is always a good thing when hunting larger species of fish or when taking long shots.

As HUW said, the single 20mm IS quicker to load, but 2x16mm's are easier and also give a little more power.

Regards

Abour the loading pad, you probably have the stealth handle (because the apex has a loading pad). You can buy a loading pad for it if you prefer to have it. It should be quite cheap. Check with your rabitech seller.

on longer guns i find it easier to load without the pad...
