Hello i decided i either want to buy a Rabitech or a Rob Allen, from what i heard they are both excellent guns.

Probably the Only determining factor would be the specs of both.

Rob Allen TUNA gun:

-7.5mm double notch spear
-220 KG breaking strain Antline Dyneema® shooting line
-ultra heavy duty snap swivel gun bungee
-double 16mm rubbers for ultimate knock down power with Antline Dyneema® wishbones

Rabitech Stealth Railgun

-Heavy duty 7mm electroplated spring steel shaft fitted with heavy gauge 78mm flopper.
-Gun comes standard with 20mm rubber fitted with ultra strong dyneema cord bridle. Twin 16mm can be fitted to muzzle;
-The Stealths come fully rigged with 400lb monofilament spearline, muzzle bungie and heavy duty snap clip.

i know both can probably be modified to the same specs, but if you pick one gun with those setups for the exact same price

What Would You get? ( both Alluminum)

Thanks

Gonzalo

im not the authority on south african railguns, but i believe that they are both very close, Miles would b your best source for that kind of question. I love my rabitech, i have the apex carbon 120, very light/manouevarble under water yet very sturdy. I like the trigger mechanism as it is very solid and easily accepts upgrades, i love the barrel because it is carbon fiber (very light) but also with reinforced stainless steel rings to prevent any bending possibility when you upgrade to more powerful bands... It also has a rail which prevents shaft whip with increased power,
I cant give my opinion on rob allens as i never tried them, but i am sure that they are also great guns, many spearos here swear by their performance..
cheers

I have a Rob Allen caranx 80cm with a single 20mm band, much more accurate than my Marc Valentine, and more powerfull too.

Rabitech vs Rob Allan has been done to death on MANY forums!! Bottom line: BOTH are very, very good guns and BOTH are equally powerful and accurate.

Some words of caution though. If you're not used to SA railguns, get 2x16mm's on any gun longer than 120cm's. Loading a railgun is normally quite difficult at first, but it soon becomes very easy.

Rabitech:
The Stealth grip is based on the Sporasub grip, whilst the newer Apex grip is based on the ARC2000 grip. Both are very good grips, with the Apex being stronger and having solid SS internals in the trigger mechanism. Rabitech has also just released their open muzzles, which work well!! The rail is bonded to the barrel and is quite deep. A bit quieter than the RA. They also have a 8mm spear, in both spring steel and stainless steel. I would recommend 2x16mm's and a 8mm spear for Blue Water hunting.

Rob Allan:
The new RA grip is called the Vecta. VERY nice grip. It has a extruded alluminuim rail, which is quite a bit shallower than the Rabitech. RA has also just release their new spears, which has mini-sharkfins on them. Well worth looking at for blue water applications.

As said previously, BOTH are equally good guns. There is no diffinitive difference between the two. I have both RA's and Rabitech's and have used both of them extensively. I how-ever, prefer my Rabitech's. Purely a personal preferance!!

Regards
miles
