Hello everyone,

The gun is a picasso blue water 110 cm, and the barrel has 32 mm diameter. On the rail you can see that the spear is taking or scratching the blue more in the middle. Is it the barrel bending? Shaft? Why only in the middle of the barrel?

The gun shoots well, it's equipped with 2x short 16mm bands and 7mm shaft.

Just would like to know why.

Cheers

Hello, and nice gun you have there. The chances of the actual tube being bent are pretty slim. However, anything can happen in transit. One thing I would check for first would be to see if your spear is possibly bent.

Rob Allen has made a video showing how to properly check your spearshaft for straightness.

First of all, thanks for your reply. Yes it is a nice gun, the only thing I don't like is that it's kind of heavy, not because it's a 32mm barrel but because of the aluminium they use, but you get used to it.
If a shaft is bent, I always go and buy a new one. Shooting with a bent shaft is like shooting in the dark as you know for sure. But even if, it would need to be bent in the back no?

It's may be the force that the bands make one the shaft on that section?

Did you ever notice something like this on a gun?

Thanks again

A few thoughts:
* Are the scratches caused by firing the spear or by loading it, or both? Perhaps the back-end of the spear is being pushed down into the rail when the spear is fired (or when it is loaded).

* In theory, the spear is separated from the rail during firing by a thin layer of water - whether that is the case in practice though, I cannot say.

The spec. details you provide sound fine & balanced - comparable to RA railgun specs.
