Don't know if this question has yet been posed, but I am gonna ask it anyway! Has anyone seen one of the new Range Rover commercials about "cool," "daring" activities...and how they are likened to driving a Range Rover? There is one commercial that features a base jumper, a kung fu fighter, and a freediver. The freediver appears to ride a sled down, then swim back up (maybe variable?). WHO IS THIS DIVER? We have paused the TiVo over and over again, and think it might be Herbert Nitsch. Anyone else have any ideas?:head

yes, its Herbert. and some of that commercial was filmed with him here in the UAE. I havent seen the commercial yet, whats the storyboard? Apparently the entire commercial with all the other stunts was filmed in various parts of the UAE as well.

how was the viz on the video? it was atrocious when Herbert came over, we had a sudden plankton bloom and you couldnt see aanything for miles :(

Begs the question sara what was miles doing there?
I saw a print ad they had in a running mag about urban golf I think not overly exciting imho.

Miles? he wasnt here. it was Herbert (as the hero diver - that's what they named him), Nadim, Wassim (SpeerO), Adel (adolphin), me and my nephew as crew for the diving bit.

well we can forgive you that tis still birthday time after all

Thanks for clearing that up for me! The jist of the advert was that driving a Range Rover is comparable to engaging in other adrenaline-producing/heartpounding activities (e.g. BASE jumping, car racing, martial arts). We found it kind of funny, though, because with freediving...well, we don't want our hearts beating that fast! Anyway, I suppose in the minds of those not familiar with the sport, it is indeed a "risky" or "extreme" activity, no?
By the way, viz wasn't too shabby in the couple of seconds of footage of Herbert's dive.
