Hi Dave,

What are the disadvantages and advantages between an open muzzle and a closed muzzle...... what do people prefer and why? i am looking to to buy my first 100 speargun too, this thread is a great help, thank you all.

Some people find it easier to sight down a gun with an open muzzle, since you have a clear view straight down the spear. Open muzzles also allow you to use shark fin spears (which aren't really neccessary for most diving). The main disadvantages are it can take longer to load an open muzzle gun as you have to wrap the line at the muzzle and spear (although with practise this takes no time at all) and sometimes catching the spear tip on something will pull the line free, allowing the spear to flop around. Its really just a case of personal preference and what you get used to

hey Dave

if its not a big problem for you, can you post a couple of pics of Albatro open muzzle model please? Preferably from top and side to see the dimensions shape etc..
