Recommendation for Gloves

Hello all.

I am sorting out my kit for the frigid waters in the north of Scotland and am looking for new gloves. I do a mixture of freediving and spearfishing and am looking for 5mm gloves (or something as warm if thinner) and am a bit overwhelmed by brands and features.

Should I look for a glove that doesn't leak?

Any recommendations?

If your priorities are watertightness and manual dexterity while wearing gloves, you might consider drygloves

which seal at the wrist and can be worn with a liner for warmth. They are the kind of gloves I wear when snorkelling off the North East coast of England. This said, if you're really looking for thicker wetsuit-style gloves, perhaps others will have suggestions for that particular option.

I have been trying on the Waterproof G1 gloves at a local dive store. Anybody used them? They seem pretty nice.

3-finger "lobster-claw" mitts are great in 0-5* water.

If you KNOW there are no chances for entanglement (known quarry), mittens are awesome, without the finger.

Otherwise, I've used 6mm cressi gloves and the dexterity isn't very good.

3mm works for me down to maybe 10*... Then it's lobster claws or mitts.
