i asked this at the newbie greeting board and realized it might not be the best place. so here it again. appreciate all opinions from experienced divers

i know SSI freediving course uses Manual of Freediving as their text. so i will probably get one when i take the course. just wanna hear about what ppl think of other books, like Breatheology, Deeply, and Homo Delphinus? Any recommendations, Pros and Cons?

thank you all

I've only read the Manual of Freediving from the ones you mentioned but if you are going to go with one, I'd go with that one.

Of course, they are not mutually exclusive but the other books don't sound like 'manuals' for freediving, which is probably what makes sense for you to get right now.

There are a couple of books by Federico Mana that I think are good - for starter might be useful to get the one on equalisation if you are having EQ issues...

Manual of Freediving is the only textbook for freediving in your list; it is excellent.
Homo Delphinus and Deeply are autobiographical books that expand into Jacques and Umberto's freediving philosophy; both are a similar format- richly illustrated and great inspiration.
Breatheology as the title suggests focuses on breathing techniques/surrounding philosophy rather than the whole range of freediving techniques. It is written by a freediver and references freediving but is also written for the non-freediver.
