Well looks like my freediving and spearfishing are on hold as i am layed up in the hospital. After a week and a half in here with 3 weeks to go, 5 hours of surgry on my leg ,a 2 foot metal rod they inserted into my leg and 6 screws, and 50 staples to close wounds, things are looking a little better.as i had multpile exposed fractures to the tibula and fibula aka bone sticking out threw the skin.but im relativily concious and my wonderful fiance has brought me a laptop so for 10 dollers an hour that the hospital charges for internet i decided to vent some frustration lol. This may be the craziest hospital ever im not sure but between sadistic nurses man on man sponge baths and the zombie lady next to me who deficates then smears it on the curtian between us and screams gibberish in the middle of the night.im sure there will be more vents i just need somewere to put my anger as i feel kinda helpless as i cant even move yet.oh and i forgot to mention the daily injection in my stomach to stop the blood clots from going into my lungs so i do not die but other than that life is good.

Seriously mate you want NHS, we have one of these on each ward, it's the law.
Vent away all you like, being stuck in hospital sucks but I'm sure your mates on db will keep you company (maybe not during the sponge bath though).
Can I ask what happened to your leg?
If you don't want say, it doesn't matter.

Wishing you the speediest of recoveries.

Regards,
Dave.

Sh*t mate I hope firstly that all goes well and wish you a speedy recovery, secondly the zombie stops deffacating and thirdly you are back in the water soon to!

Happy healing mate.

Cheers

Ryan

i was snowbarding and i had a skier stop right in front of me so i swerved to avoid him and went off a 30 foot cliff onto rocks, sharp sticks, logs then into tree at about 70 km as i was hauling some A@@ down the mountian but would never of happened if he had looked back to make sure no one was there before he stopped.but what ever.thanks for comments and next time ill be sure to injure myself at or near NHS LOL.

i call her the zombie cause she is veryyyyyy old and one seriously looks like one.all that seperates us are a series of curtians so when the light is on in her area all i can see is the outline of a person with crazy hair and bony arms making the zombie sound like ughhhhhhhhh ughhhhhh ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh while she pushes her hands against the curtian(covered in feces) like you see in horror movies -feces.the only thing to look forward to are the morphine comas lol.

From someone who has spent too many days in the hospital in the last ten years. Try to be optimistic and as cheery as possible. It will help. Remember that doctors make miracles happen, every day and you'll soon be better than new.
If you need a laugh. Lucky you in the Canadian system. The hospital down here is so short of staff that they sent me home with twenty syringes and instructions where to stick them when I had the first hip operation.

Brutal. I thought maybe you ditched a 12-oclock standup wheelie!

Hang in there bro!

Assuming you can. I'm allergic to all narcotics. Any post-surgery pain I might have better be treatable with Tylenol.

Phew! The more I learn about snow-boarding, the less I have any desire to try it. :head

Yeah i have begun to find amusement in my situation and may have even found a new dive buddy once we both get out. They actually said im healing really fast so 3 weeks may be down to just one more.and i have mastered taken a #2 in a pan lol and can rock a crossword like no ones business. db is definetly helping with my sanity thanks for the well wish's.yeah im glad i didnt do it on my bike cause then id be in the hospital and lost a bike id be far more depressed.the nurses are actually ok they are just stressed i guess their very busy and they have to do things you couldnt pay me enough to do lol.

Vow, man. Not that it changes anything, but I sympathize sincerely with your plight. You did the right thing by avoiding the collision with the skier. That zombie lady - should not she be in a separate ward or something? Get well soon!!!

Get better soon man. Think of it this way, if you were in the U.S., you'd be stuck with a huge medical bill, or perhaps instead of saving the leg, they'd say it would be cheaper just to chop it off. Lucky you're in Canada, aye! :)

Your bed pan comments made me think of this video. Hope you don't laugh to hard, it could hurt.
