i painted this gun to try something new. this gun is for my son jayson.(16 years old) it is a fully enclosed track, epoxy and graphite poured. overall end to end , gun is 48" 40" track. neptonics reef trigger.and handle frame. handle pieces are black ipe. i picked this black piece out of a truckload of material. it looks black like ebony when oiled.it is negatively buoyant. feels relly good. very slick. like ebony almost. shoots a 5/16 x52" riffe shaft,(its got a ray odor spear on it now) or any size riffe compatible shaft that is 5/16 or smaller. i put a small omer butt on the end to protect the gun. the finish was very complicated. : 1 coat of penetrating epoxy. then sanded and painted with about 3 coats of oil base acryllic paint. . then coated with about 8 coats of varnish over the next two weeks. sanding all along with 400 grit paper up to 600 grit

Great but did I miss the bit about the red camo! What did you use for the colour?

i'm sorry, i forgot. i used acryllic, oil based rust-oleum brand paint. i bought one can each, of: red ,black, white . i painted the whole gun red, first, then went over and over it with greys, black, dark and light red, until i sorta liked it. then i started with the varnish. even though i used clear varnish, it sorta dulled and mottled the colors together a little. i kinda like it

Cool gun, your boy's got to love that mate.Did you use the cat for a pattern?
Cheers, Don Paul
