what effect does red camo have opposed to green or blue or any other camo?

do fish react differently to the color or what is it?

Well red is the first to fade out in the water colum... to a fish it would just look gray

Tho I have always wondered why not just use gray????

I hear the sharks like it tho!!!!haha

Red for safety purpose while on surface, red because it disappears turning to a dark blueish brownish grey while submerged.
If anyboy's interested, there's a fat chance to get hands on the Effesub open cell Red Camu full two pieces spearfishing suit, tailored in Italy, for a stock celarance price. Here's an offer for 105 euro, sizes available, S, M and L, 5,5 millimeters.
The only reason why it's sold so cheap is that Effesub company went tits up and they're selling off their stocks.
MUTA EFFESUB MM 5.5 RED CAMU MIMETIC TG L [7435L] - 105.00EUR : Sea and More. La scelta giusta per il tuo hobby!

That looks like a real bargain but maybe not so easy for us English speaking guys to order.

Ouch it is a pity. I hoped to get hands on (and feet in) their whalebone fins. The fin is a gadget (though would be nice for my collection anyway), but the footpockets look just perfect. If you see them in a simlar sale off, please let me know, Spago!

Foxy and anyone: PM if interested and I'll help with italian shop site. (I'm not into any business with them, but I'm happy if I can help my fellow Deeperblue friends to make a good deal).

OK - can you help me with the size chart?
I do quite fancy one of there suits but how about the cost to send to Guernsey?

I think they will have better business if those Italian website has an english version. Lots of buyers also from overseas. They have great prices too. Like Scubazar.com :friday

Cheers to the Italian On-line retailers.

Foxy if you scroll the page of the wetsuit link you see a size chart in english too. numbers are in centimeters and kilograms.
However size charts are about all the same for the different brands.
size S: height mt 1,62 to 1,70, weight 55 to 70 kilograms
size M: height 1,67 to 1,75, weight 60 to 75 kg
size L: height 1,73 to 1,85, weight 70 to 85 kg
size XL height 1,82 to 1,90, weight 85 to 100
XXL: bigger than that
Shipping inside Europe must be something around 30 or 35 euro.

Hey Spaghetti buddy,

Is there by any chance that there is an italian made 1.5 mm camo suit with a hood and low waist pants, not necessarily open cell coz i'll be using it in 30'C water and about 37'C Sun rays hehehe...:friday Effesub made some special 2mm camo for the Hawaiian folks.

Spaghetti do you know how much the normal cost would be for the 5.5mm suit?

the normal price is 170 eurish or thereabout.
I checked on other shops which are not yet clearing their Effesub stocks, and the camu suit is sold for 170 euro at Acquasport (Marco Bardi's shop) and 169euro at Todaro's in Rome. Mulinelli Shimano - mulinelli elettrici - mulinelli da traina - fili da pesca | TodaroSport

That 105 euro offer I found is really good for a suit like that. It's 5,5 millimeters open cell Nam Liong 3D macrocellular neoprene (don't ask me what it means but it sounds like something serious! :)).
The only reason I don't get one is that I've had a heavy, very heavy fiscal payment this month and I have somehow lost my temper a bit (along with my money: january is the killer month for income taxes in our country :blackeye)

Thanks - I am going to think about it tonight but I had a look at OMDs new lined suit today & that also looks great

Spago, I did not use your kind tip, but just fell by chance on an irresistible offer that I found at a French reseller - Effesub Whalebone for just 44.50€. In plus the shipping was inexpensive (10€). I am looking forward getting them! (Never mind the blades, but the foot-pockets simply look too good, and I needed another pair)

If others are interested, unfortunately it looks like I bought the last pair of the size 41/42, but they still have a 43/44 in stock: chasse-sous-marine.net
