Here is the story I own a Beuchat Mundial Carbon Elite with the Mundial reel. I believe it is the 1000mm model, the Gun was very powerful and farley difficult to lode
After time I wanted a little more reach so I ordered another 18 mm band non euro style with a stainless steel cable instead of a wishbone, so far so good, until today when I tested it in my swimming pool. My elbow is still sore from when it was slammed into the wall buy the un expected recoil of the gun, even more un expected was that the shaft only took about six feet of line out and stopped to fall to the bottom of the pool. The reel drag was set to its lowest position and the gun if free of any line snags or tangles the stainless steal cable is in the farthest notch, in the closer notch the euro band with the articulated
Wishbone. That’s the set up, maybe some of the spear gurus could help me out.

Before adding the second band I recently made a shot into a school of fish that while leaving the muzzle one of the mono filament line crimps caught and pulled the line out
I thought the shaft was lost but to my surprise I found Two fish both hit behind the gills
But they were swimming in opposite directions. Last shot of the day pure luck and a great dinner. :t

nice lucky shot, your problem seems to be that you still need to have a wrap of line or two on the gun, the line should run from the reel, to the line anchor in the muzzle, back down to one of the aligator clips on the side, then back up to the muzzle, and back down to the back of the spear.

The line anchor in the muzzle is a little more that a hole in some plastic am I suppose to run thru it or around it?
for some reason I thought that I could get away with running directly to the reel. I don’t really like using alligator clips though but it seems like the only option.
Dose any one know of a better way to rig the line so the clips aren’t needed?

run the line through it, or around it, doesnt really matter, but it is easier to re-rig when its run through it.

if the reel came with the belt mount, this can be used to attatch it to the barrel sideways (with stainless steel hose clamps that you would have to buy yourself) this will allow you to still use the line release ive been told, but i havnt tried it out that way *yet*

are you using double 18mm bands with a single 6.5 shaft? if thats the case you are most likely overpowering the gun, hence the unexpected recoild and you will notice maybe lack of accuracy as well. i recommend you either use double 16mm but even then move to a thicker shaft (7mm) or use a single 20mm rubber also with a 7mm shaft, if you still need more, buy a longer gun and repeat the same logic :)
