Does anyone know what sort of reel will fit a cyrano 110? ive seen so many diferent reels on sites saying they fit most pneumatics but would like to be certain before i purchase one, any info would be great including sites that sell them cheers!:friday

Quickshot, you have various options:

- cheap: imersion, devoto, seatec injection moulded plastic 'universal' reels. These can be installed with the help of cable-ties, cost around EUR10-15 and have a line capacity around 30-40 meters depending on the line diameter.

- mid range: mares injection moulded plastic reel with assembly kit for cyrano. About the same capacity and quality as those mentioned above, but twice as expensive.

- high end: maorisub big fish, dentex, dentex slim, white fish etc. and merou tuna & race. These cost around EUR50-60, but are of much superior quality (stainless steel pieces & machined (not injection moulded) drum, maorisub drum with positive buoyancy(!), etc) than those mentioned above. Capacity of a maorisub dentex or merou race reel is around 45m.

If you can afford maorisub, IMO these are the best by test.

Cheers, ulysses

go to a local dive shop that sells spearo equipment and take your gun, there you can test fit your reel.
like ulysses said, if your looking for a cheap option go for dessault or immersion reels that are secured with cable ties or hose clamps

yeah money isnt so much the problem just trying to find one that would fit it plus where i live most of the dive shops and people in general have never even heard of spearfishing they are all still bent up on rods and netting, if only they knew what they were missing out on! if you mentioned omer or any of the popular italian brands they would look at you like your an alien, but lucky for me the internet was invented

FYI, Mares has a reel designed to specifically fit the Cyrano gun. Part # 423856. This is a reel we previously have not sold in the U.S. although we are making it available here in June to all Mares retailers. MSRP is $70.00 U.S. You may be able to find it on some European websites if you hunt around.

Good luck.
