refurbish my old Abellan Denton 106

what should i use? Polyurethane Lacquer in multiple coats? Tung Oil? i am not sure.... since this gun lives in salt water....
would appreciate any advice you all can give me since i have never done this before....

I use marine varnish, which are all polyurethane based these days, of the marine spar type. A number of coats with a light scuffing between coats to make sure the next coat sticks. I hang the gun on a bent up wire coat hanger so that I can paint all of it in one go and leave it to dry swinging on my outdoor clothesline. Pick a day where it will be sunny and dry! Marine spar varnish can handle UV and is less susceptible to cracking from bumps and knocks.

How it was coated originally? A good idea is to use same type of coat.
