Broke the line release on my RA last weekend. No dive shops on the island so will have to install the replacement myself & I'm not too sure how to go about it or if mucking around with the line release will effect the trigger & operation of the gun. any tips appreciated.
Thanks,
Sean

As a temporary option you can wrap an elastic band around the barrel just in front of the trigger guard & trap your line under it.

Smee - I have replaced the line release on my RA and it is a very simple procedure if you are just a little mechanically minded.

I have an Aluminium 90 and the opening up of the trigger mechanism is achieved through pushing out the plastic pins (about 2-3mmin diameter if I remember correctly) (just use a blunt nail or small screwdriver if you don't have a punch) Then the trigger mech can be taken out as a cartridge from above. There is another plastic pin pushed through to hold the trigger mech in place. Let me know if you need more help I can take mine apart via pictures and show you if you need it

How old is you gun? - there are new handles on the market now called 'vectra' or something like that - I don't have one of those but the older version.

Thanks all for your replies. The gun is an aluminum 130 with the vectra handle & The rail makes it difficult to use an elastic band to hold the line. I've found some pictures of a rabitec trigger mech and I think I'll be able to find my way around id they are not too different.
Cheers, Sean

All the best with that if you're going to dive in. Why not take some photos so that we can all learn from your experience?
