Every dive the same, can't equalize at around 8 meters, when i ascend i get sharp pain in my ears. Doesn't matter if I'm wearing a hood or not.

Lately i noticed that even when diving in a pool i get the feeling of pressure in my ear when reaching the surface.

Im doing frenzel, and relaxing, especially in the pool. Even quit dairy for two weeks, but no improvement.
Also, tried head up and down, position of head and all.

What am I missing??

I am THIS close to just take antihistamines before every dive or something

some people can equalize easy from day one some people struggle with it for a while. there are soooooo many variables, sinus, weird tubes, mental etc. if ur breathing clear and they are still blocking u might be irritating them on the way down they then swell and revers block on ascent. I think if ur not blessed with good diving ears it just takes tons of equalizations it took me a while then one day it just clicked i dont even know why really. It has to be excersized just like any muscle one approach ive heard was to dry equalize 200 times a day for 2 weeks then go diving. it can get tricky too if uv had problems cause if ur anticipating having a problem at 25 feet u may subconsciously tense up as u approach that depth and sabotage yourself. I dont know for sure but im thinking pranayama breathing probably helped me a little, anyway it can be extremely frustrating i thought for a while i had bad ears and would never get it but nope it was just lack of experience.

Same problem here but get pain pain in the whole head and have air trapped in sometimes. Today I had pain and did 2-3 dives just to check if i recovered and at last dive i had more pain than the other dives, after 20 minutes ~ i felt the trapped air going free and the headache was gone with it. Maybe some sinuses illness? Its not what monkeyhatfork describes because I get it at 1 meter dives and can dive easily 25 meter. Please help me!
