Folks...How can i expand my Rib Cage? i want my rib cage bigger than ever and more elastic :D :)
i did not find out any in search button :head

Standing or sitting with your arms stretched above your head, take a full inhale, and maybe even a few packing breaths. Then, bend to one side stretching your rib cage by stretching your arms. Once stretched as much as you can, try packing in a few more breaths in to expand your lungs and rib cages. Try exhaling in this sideways stretch position and then inhaling to your max. Then do the same to the other side. Also, try inhaling completely and leaning backwards with your hands above your head so that you try to look upside down at what's behind you. Focus on expanding the space and muscles between your ribs. Focus on filling your lungs against your ribs. I do this everytime before I get into the swimming pool. Whether my rib cage has got bigger, I don't know. But I do know that I have more lung capacity and my ribs and back are more limber.
Peace,
Glen

Thnx Glen...looks great advise i ll do it! :)

FYI... If you were to get a copy of the "Manual of Freediving" you would see several awesome exercises to make your rib cage like gumby.

rofl i did not find in any store!..i tried to download from emule..you know any link to download for english version?

LOTS of spearfishing........when I first started spearfishing I put on 2” inches on my chest and lost 2” off my waist in the first year - an expensive EXERCISE as my wardrobe had to be updated...haven’t dived much of late and the belly to prove it - but you keep the chest...

Of course it made no sense and my apologies.:duh I have only speared in the Bahamas and spear guns are illegal:rcard. A sling and steel spear are used here - sort of like using a catapult. I used a very short length of sling rubber for extra range and power and the technique is similar to using a chest expander.... after hours and hours of doing this your rib cage expands quite naturally.

When I can upload pictures I’ll make this clearer if you wish. For now check out the link to see the gear I use (the one without the fancy handle).

Hope this now makes a bit more sense.:)

Now that is an interesting observation. I've also noticed the increase in lung volume after a week or so of intense spearing with a sling. In my case, just under a liter. Always thought it was just the diving, but maybe the sling had something to do with it.

Thanks geordieden.

Why it works? Once a spear gun is primed you expend no further energy until you shoot. With a sling you are constantly loading and unloading as you pursue fish. If you don’t want to spook the fish you are probably closing in for the kill with the sling at full stretch which is real hard work - until you’ve done it a few hundred times...
Not having a line also plays a part methinks. You need a good head shot if you don’t want to risk losing your spear and you have to work that much harder to get those type of shots.

It would be an interesting experiment to get a few folk to try out spearing with a sling and for them to measure their chests before and after.
