i am relativelely new to the sport of freediving and spearfishing and until recently i was using a jbl magnum,350 ...............it worked pretty well and i did manage to get a good number of fish with it .........

i then upgraded to a riffe euro 120x and believe me the difference was incredible.............great gun, power and range ..............on my very first dive i managed to stone a 12lb jack that normally would have been out of range.........needless too say the gun handles well...........second shot nice barracuda...............

can't wait to get back in the water with my riffe of course........my jbl now serves as my back up gun

good hunting to all and best of luck to all spearos in the new year.....

I have a euro 120 love it, accuracy, power, easy to swim with, so so quiet. took it out last week only missed one fish the whole day. Shot it in the head and the flopper didnt go through (Hawaiian), every other shot stoned or spinals. It goes exactly where I want, when i want. Shot a few fish from the hip too and upside down. Dominates on the reef as well as in the blue water. I probably should have got a 120x as I do not have the upper body strength to chest load it, but dealed with it and put on a loading tab 3/4 the way up the shaft, love it, one rubber on the loading tab perfect for crayfish/lobster shots.
The range of it on the reef was orgasmic, as long as the visibility is good, I was spotting fish from 10m away swimming within 4m and stoned them before they could even wink at me.
Can't wait for the next neap tide.

The Riffe Euro is by far the best gun Riffe has ever produced. It is just incredibly accurate. Unfortunately it does not come setup the correct way and you have to tinker with it to get it to perform to its maximum potential. On my Euro 120X, the first think I did was move to a 150cm 7.1mm shaft (from the 160cm). This moves the impact point a couple of inches higher downrange. Second is cut down the bands and reduce the size of the wishbone. I use 5/8" bands with first cut at 62cm and second band cut at 66cm with loops for wishbones. The final wishbone size is 6 to 7cm. This dramatically makes the gun shoot flatter and improves performance. At 6 meters this setup will penetrate the same as the default setup at 4 meters, and accuracy is incredible. In a recent target shooting competition that I participated in, the top 4 placing guns were all Riffe Euro 120X's.
