Rigging an RA Reel

I'm not sure if this topic has been covered before….BUT does anyone have an easier way of rigging a 55 meter dyneema cord unto a RA reel…..it is a real pain in the BU....T!
It takes me 1/2 hour to roll the dyneema to the reel….very very boring:head.

rofl "I feel your pain" Ihab! Sorry, I don't use a reel on my speargun but I do load up fishing reels for myself and other family members from time to time. I rather enjoy if - sort of peaceful and meditative. Half an hour sounds excessive though. Are you going to be able to spend that kind of time reeling in line in the water?

There are some devices available from angling suppliers, like Veals.co.uk, that will hold a spool under moderate tension for you; folk will sometimes hold the feeder spool on pencil axle for me. I don't use any device though, I usually just improvise something - I should really make something:hmm. I keep the reel attached to the bottom section of the rod & feed the line through the first ring - you could probably do something similar with a speargun - so the line comes from the same direction that it will in use.

Of course, we have long, wet, dark winters with nothing to do - so doing this kind of thing helps wile away the long dark nights! Making fishing rigs & re-rigging spearguns and agonising about the latest spearing gear/purchase are other favourite winter activities! Using DeeperBlue.com too of course

You made me feel better as soon as you mentioned the long wet dark winter night…That's it, I'm ready to spool 1 reel a day but get all the Sun I need:friday…..seriously.
Swing by sometime to Sunny Egypt….will take you on a good spearfishing trip.
