It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
You're not very descriptive about what exactly you mean.

But I think you're referring to packing (which looks like they're gasping for air a number of times). This is a somewhat advanced technique to try and get more air than your normal full lung capacity into your lungs, which can help with equalization and the amount of O2 you have available somewhat.

But... there are a number of risks to it, so it's generally not recommended unless you really know what you are doing and have trained up to it gradually.

There are many people who don't use it for most if not all of their dives also... IMO it's mainly for higher-end competitive freediving.
