Well.... it's safe to say when the winds kicked in on my holidays that being away from the ocean got rather boring, so in the spirit of the last rip off of an Offspring song (see the Dec comp), here's another :) If anyone has any similar songs, go ahead and post!

Blood in My Spleen
**************

(Sing to 'Self Esteem' by The Offspring)

I held my breath for the tenth time today,
Packed my lungs, filled them up all the way.
Looked around, there was no sign of earth,
Blocked my nose and steadied my nerves.

Well I know, I should go slow,
But it's kinda hard when you're diving with pros,
And I know, I'm aiming too deep,
But that's OK, I've got no blood in my spleen.

We made plans, to reach thirty nine,
Two warm up dives with a static at five,
All this training, and still I just know,
This mega dives gunna end in BO.

My mate says, "Why would you torture yourself?"
But I really think he's he's missing the point,
And he says, "Why is your face turning blue?"
But I really perform better this way,
The more contractions, the more it shows that you're a man...
Right? Yeah yeah

You'll get a kick out of this little bit,
(Which happens more than I'd care to admit),
I ventilated, flushed my CO2 stores,
Hit three thirty then fell flat on the floor.

Well I know, I should go slow,
But it's kinda hard when you're diving with pros,
And I know, I'm aiming too deep,
But that's OK I've got no blood in my spleen.

disturbing yet entertaining....:hmm

who said you had to dive deep to get nitrogen narcosis? some people seem to be managing fine above the water...:D

Nah it's all about the weather... it was 44.1 deg celcius here (on the news they mentioned some little country town got 53 deg- that's celcius!!) and the water is still struggling to break 18... :(

Geez, you guys are no fun... let's see some enthusiasm!!! :D :D :D :D :D :friday

OK, at the risk of sounding like a total teeny bopper, lets get some Avril going :)

Diver Boy (Or D|\/3R B0I :D)
********************************
He bought a gun,
To go with his float,
Can I make it any more obvious?
He liked to dive,
He'd stay out all day,
What more can I say?
He wanted fins,
The Omer's were swell,
(Secretly he liked Cressi as well)
He saw a Sea Hornet,
And stuck up his nose;
It tended to aim like a firemans hose.

He was a diver boy,
He said look at my new toy,
It had a vastly increased range,
Now he's out shopping late,
His new cam suit feeling great,
He doesn't see he's looking strange.

Five weeks from now,
He's on his boats bow,
Feeding the anchor he's feeling swell,
He ties off the rope,
Jumps in and hopes,
Fingers crossed he wont hit a shell,
He spies a nice trout,
And quickly takes aim,
A perfect hit he scores in the brain,
There's lots of blood,
So he checks around,
Looks up at the dark shape bearing down

He was a diver boy,
He said look at my new toy,
It had a vastly increased range,
Now he's out shopping late,
His new cam suit feeling great,
He doesn't see he's looking strange.

Sorry boy but you missed out,
Well tough luck that trouts gone now,
He used to be the bities friend,
But this is how the story ends,
Too bad that he couldn't see,
See how hungry was that sharky,
There was more than met the eye,
The poor things starved, eating small fry

He's liked to dive,
And it liked to hunt,
Can I make it any more obvious?
They'd make a good team,
Make a lot of folks scream,
If he wasn't such a girl,
Tough luck to the diver boy,
The shark was soon filled with joy,
Eating the fish that diver scored,
He now goes to Florida,
Chasing barracuda,
But he never gets real bored

:D

It's like I should know better, yet I keep coming back...

:duh

Yeah it's disturbingly addictive huh :) Try getting to sleep when you've got this stuff stuck in your head at 3 in the morning.... :duh

And it's so lyrical.

How do you think of these things again? I remember your entry in the December caption contest... and look what happened after that:head

It's a terrible power you have loopy.

It is not power, BatRay....

It's the drugs! rofl

Nah actualy they mentioned the air conditioning unit around here was leaking... :duh :D

OK sports fans, 20 points to whoever can guess how interesting my work is at the moment... :D I hate writing about myself though so someone else come with a nickname that end's in 'ee' :)

Superman (to... hey, to Superman :) by five for fighting)
*************
I can't gulp down air,
Resist the urge to breathe,
I'm just out to try,
To dive past fifty three

I'm just like a man,
Obsessed with the sea,
I'm swimming in warm stuff now,
My suits full of pee,
And it's not easy
To be Loopy

I think that I should try,
To learn some new technique,
I just hate the fact,
The blood's flown from my feet

I'm not asking for help,
Not for your sympathy,
But even scuba guys don't do it for me,
I may be obsessed,
But won't you just see,
Ever diver has a right to the sea,
And it's not easy,
To be Loopy

Exhales, they don't even bother me,
They feel all right,
The make your lungs go tight,
And your sight go hazy,
For a wee bit

I can't stay too dry,
I swim cause I feel free,
I just hate the fact,
The water temp's thirteen

I'm only a man,
With my silly big feet,
Searching this deep sea wreck,
For my nightly feed,
Only a man,
Trying out my Cressi's,
Searching for abalone,
On this deep sea reef.

And it's not easy,
To be Loopy

You're killing me man, killing me.:D Isn't that the second one you've cooked up in one week? You've almost inspired me to join in.

Almost inspired? Hmm, well that is something we shall have to remedy then isn't it? :D

I see they have a serious drug problem in Canberra.....

C'mon! Avril! I know she's hot and all...... (go Canada!)

Freediving
**********

She's a good girl, she hates to samba,
Hates blackouts and contractions too,
She's a good girl, crazy about diving,
Loves to spear with her RA too

It's been a long day, stuck at my desk working,
There's a net site that talks about the blue,
And I'm a bad boy for writing all these songs,
I'm a bad boy but what can they do

Cause I'm free,
I'm free diving,
Yeah I'm free,
Free diving

Now all the bubble blow'rs, making lots of noise,
Move away real far down the end of the bay,
And all the spearo's are diving on the sea mounts,
And all the fisherman are cursing all the way

Now I'm free,
I'm free diving,
Yeah I'm free,
Free diving

I don't want to black out while I'm on my own,
I want to live a while 'fore I die,
Wanna freedive out into nothing,
Gonna join my world for a while

Gonna join my world for a while

Sounds like you're in your own little world all right, loopy.:D I'm working one, but I can't remember all of the verses.

Like that really matters...

Record Deal

Hey Loopy,

I think you got talent. Can I interest you in a record deal, hotel room trashing, groupies, a lunch boxes with your face on it, monthly appearances on Letterman, your own line of freediving gear? I'll make you famous!:thankyou You'll be a star, trust me.

I love your songs--maybe I'll spend my first hour at work tomorrow making one up. Right on, man. Some day we'll all have to get together and sing freediving songs and feast on the day's catch.

My life has new meaning! (seriously)
