I'm in rivers all the time.. but they are shallow, have very fast currents sometimes, and sometimes only 2' of visibility. I've quite a collection of fishermen's lures from the rivers. Always see a lot of fish, especially below the dams. I wouldn't think the rivers are a good place for any kind of depth work, but what the heck.. it's water, why would you not bring the mask and fins? Water is water as far as I'm concerned.. worst thing is you jump in and are disappointed. Well, worst thing is, you jump in and get tangled up in something. Be careful.

thanks... ill be sure to wach for things to get tangled up in... the river around here is about 60 feet in some places... my current dive depth is about 14 feet... so that will prolly be plenty...=]

Hi Devin,

Rivers can be fabulous. Search Washington, Oregon, salmon, Michigan, and some great stuff will come up. Check out in freediving stories, "Old Fla spearo....." for a river dive.
