hi all

I am planning on bying a 2nd hand RA railgun to use
its the biggest gun that I ever had but its a good deal and I cant resist:chatup.
has any of you used this gun RA 130
WHAT do you think of it and where would you use it?

Would you use it in scotland???? Iv heard of dear crossing the water but never any free divers getting them!!!!

I love Rob allen have used all guns up to 130 and wish i owned all of them.

I is worth it to get carbon in the bigger guns if the budget allows. But a great deal is a great deal....Id use it anywhere the vis was awsom. On big or small fish. The gun is big enough for blue water but pin point for the reef.

Too long for UK waters in all but the clearest of conditions. Great for clear tropical waters, where 110, 120, 130, 140 & less commonly 150cm guns are normal. 75-90cm is normal for UK waters but 10-20cm out of that range would be fine under appropriate visibility conditions.

RA sell parts, so you could potentially get a shorter barrel & spear - although whether it would be worth the trouble & expense is another matter (prob. not).

The RA guns are built "heavy duty", to handle large and very large fish. All the clips, & lines are extra strong. Nice features include: rail, soft dyneema wishbone, inexpensive but powerful bulk rubber, bulk rubber muzzle takes 10cm more rubber than typical euro gun, usually a slightly heavier spear (dual notched for soft wishbones) & the dual muzzle allow single or dual bands to be used (usualy 2x16mm or 1x16/18/20mm). Consequently they are a bit heavier than a regular eurogun. I would say the handle will probably suit a larger hand better than a smaller hand (I wear Large gloves, fairly tight, and find the handle comfortable but substantial).

Mr. X, do you know how much RA guns roughly cost? cheers
I know what I paid for mine, several years ago now. And I know what I was quoted for one last year. But I think you need to get a quote direct from the seller you choose because there was a big variation. I think they were particularly kind to me when I was starting out.

BTW I believe Shiny1 lives near you and is about to place an order, perhaps you should contact him, now.
