Hey could you tell me how you rig/replace bands onto a Rob Allen. The opening seems to narrow to push through. Do you have to loop the rubber in first and then tie the wishbone or what?

appreciate it.

Tie the wishbone in at both ends if the rubber first. Using a constrictor knot. Then pull the bands so they stretch and slot them into the muzzle if a low profile muzzle is being used.

Just to add you may need an insertion tool to insert the wishbone into the rubber. It's a metal t piece that makes insertion very easy. Failing that a set of long nosed pliers have been used before but go careful.

Here's a constrictor knot: Constrictor Knot | How to tie the Constrictor Knot (Twisting Method) | Boating Knots
After you have done this, wrap the ends/tags of cord around the loops (goin around the knob) once and this stops it coming undone. Hope this helps

What also helps a bit is, before popping the band(s) in, spraying some silicon lubrication spray on the band and muzzle area.

Are you using an open or a closed muzzle?
Open muzzle you can just pop them in. with a closed muzzle you must leave one end of the band untied so you can loop in your rubbers.

RA muzzles are all open as far as I know Mishu. the cressi geronimo are closed but easily replaced.

I'll have a look tonight. As I've got two types of muzzle, one low profile and one original muzzle (possibly closed) ill try an get some pics up later

Scott is right. Both muzzles are open.

Here's a standard muzzle:

Here's a low profile muzzle (able to hold double bands):

And here's a comparison of the two:

So to answer your original question. Insert the wishbone, tie the knots, then stretch the rubber and fit into the muzzle.
